3rd Craic is a 5.5% abv Irish stout made with coffee, soo lets call it an Irish Coffee Stout. The name refers to coffee roasting and the two audible "cracks" that occur when making a darker roast coffee. The "3rd Craic" of course refers to the party inside this can, hearty but not filling, full-flavoured but not overwhelming and warming even right out of the fridge.
 
This dark ale pours like a cup-a-joe straight from a diner's serving pot; black as night with a claycoloured, lacing head. Subtle, freshly roasted coffee on the nose,with just a hint of dark chocolate. The first sip is all roasted barley and milk chocolate, with a creamy mouthfeel that coats the tongue. The lasting finish of 90% cocoa bitterness is just warming enough to invite you to take another sip, no milk or sugar needed.
